At our Budapest site, we specialize in the synthesis of small molecules and support the pharmaceutical chemistry projects of our internal and external partners.
The role will provide a range of administration support across the IT team and support the delivery of exceptional client care to colleagues across the business. The role will have a broad remit given the nature of the work and support both operational service and project work within the department. The person in this role is to deliver a first class, professional service to the team and business and will take personal ownership and responsibility for standards of service.
What You'll Do
- Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 technical support to end users, including troubleshooting hardware, software, networking, and electronic equipment issues (e.g., laptops, peripherals, printers, mobile devices, and conferencing systems).
- Ensure the efficient operation of IT purchasing and ordering procedures, working closely with IT, Accounting teams, and suppliers to obtain quotes, submit purchase orders, receipt goods, handle invoice queries, manage returns, and resolve supplier issues.
- Administer IT equipment inventories, including the allocation, tracking, maintenance, and repair of all IT assets. Liaise with Facilities to ensure e-waste disposal follows company SOPs and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain and support security best practices across end-user systems, including device configuration, access control, patching, and adherence to company IT and security policies. Escalate potential risks or incidents appropriately.
- Provide basic support to software development and technical teams, including assisting with access, tools, environments, and troubleshooting issues related to development platforms and workflows.
- Manage software licenses, subscriptions, and maintenance renewals, including tracking usage to support budgeting and compliance with license agreements.
- Review, analyze, and report on the usage and consumption of key IT services, including mobile devices, printers, and other operational tools.
- Support IT services and projects, including onboarding/offboarding activities, scheduling inductions and training sessions, and coordinating supplier deliveries across global offices.
- Support the delivery of management information to IT leadership, including preparation of reports on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and operational metrics.
- Promote communication and engagement across the business by supporting internal communications, help guides, knowledge base updates, and coordination of service reviews with regional offices.
- Organize meetings and events with internal and external stakeholders, including coordination, documentation, and note-taking where appropriate.
- Ensure IT records, systems documentation, and knowledge base content are accurate and kept up to date.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of IT processes, documentation, and service delivery standards to enhance overall user experience and operational efficiency.
- Coordinate and perform onboarding, role changes, and offboarding tasks in collaboration with HR and relevant stakeholders.
What We're Looking for
- Experience providing hands-on IT support in a helpdesk or end-user support environment, including troubleshooting hardware, software, and peripheral devices.
- A broad understanding of IT operations, infrastructure, and software development environments within a modern organization.
- Familiarity with IT security best practices, including access control, device security, and safe handling of sensitive information.
- Experience supporting or interacting with development tools, environments, or technical teams is a plus.
- Strong proficiency in Excel and/or project management tools to analyze and produce business and IT reports.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of IT support responsibilities within a regional or remote office environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to support both technical and non-technical users.
- Experience working in a customer-focused environment and managing supplier relationships.
- Strong organizational skills with a structured and methodical approach to managing tasks and deadlines.
- Ability to prioritize workload, manage multiple activities simultaneously, and respond effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong proficiency in both Hungarian and English, with the ability to communicate verbally and in writing in both languages.
Very strong interpersonal skills are a pre-requisite. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational ability and thrive on providing an excellent service. Excellent communication skills and interested parties must have confidence and diplomacy
