Position Overview:

The Contracts Specialist will be responsible for collaborating with key management and cross-functional teams (including Sales, Marketing, Operations, Finance) to manage the contracting process. The candidate will develop efficient processes, procedures and workflows for ensuring efficient client contractual documents and industry standard cycle times are met. In collaboration with external counsel when required the candidate will support drafting, negotiating, and managing multiple types of contracts (MSA's, CDA's,, Consulting and SOWs).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with key management and cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with industry standard contract terms and conditions
  • Develop and maintain contractual template documents
  • Work on and manage a comprehensive contract database on a daily basis, including drafting, negotiating, and managing multiple types of contracts
  • Work closely with outside counsel to ensure all contracts are properly drafted, executed and maintained
  • Review and analyze contracts to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Provide guidance and support to team members on contract-related issues
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of contract standards and industry trends
  • Assist with training team member and contract compliance
  • Coordinate with external counsel to track IP portfolio

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies or related field
  • 3+ years of experience as a paralegal in a corporate setting
  • Able to prioritize and manage various projects simultaneously and deliver on expected timelines
  • Strong understanding of research and drug discovery contract regulations
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and contract management software
  • Experience in contracting in the North America, Europe and UK
